I have 7 ferrets currently. Two of them I foster because they have insulenoma and were given up. The others I have had from 5 1/2 yrs to just almost a month for the baby. I have been through just about everything at this point. But not this. All of them at the same time are acting very scary. They are confused, constantly forget what they are doing. They sleep with eyes open and are weaker than usual plus clumsy. One has begun having uncontrolled fits. Not like a seizure though. Just uncontrolled body jerks. They eat like they are starving and a couple started eating bedding although there is food. They hang their heads over as if they are drunk. Please does anyone know what this is? They remind me of a rat I saw one time that had eaten poison. Just off its rocker but still lively. My kids, as I call my ferrets, are just not there. Its like they are just shells. I cant get them into the vet today.

You need to find an emergency vet. This is far beyond what we can help with. In the interim remove everything from their environment and get a new bag of food and fresh water in different dishes. Get them into the shade out of all heat. They could well have heat stroke as well. Dip a cloth in lukewarm water and wipe heads, necks, and paws. Stand them in a very shallow pan of lukewarm water to increase cooling. Even non ferret vets can give subq fluids which will also help cool them.
