I agree that they are the perfect combination of a kitten and puppy, and I say baby names because they STAY cute and fluffy and playful like babies! It is too bad they don't have the lifespan of most cats and small dogs though.... That can also be a good thing, in a way. Their time with us is shorter but it is also so sweet. I've seen people who had cats just give them away after 6 or 7 years because they were "too old" - what I think they really meant was they were so bored of them, or fed up with their antics. I think the ferret lifespan is ideal, but that is just me. I know some people would like to have them live forever!

They are the perfect student pet ha! Sleeping ~20 hours a day really helps them fit into pretty much any schedule! I like the cross in nature they seem to have. I like that he has cat like tendencies and wanders off to play by himself for a bit and then come fleeing into the room dooking and bounding like a puppy looking for hugs! I think I might go and get him out his cage now... Time for ferret hugs! Always a good time for ferret hugs! My favorite thing is their poop habits... I am not a big fan, so the fact that they can be litter trained is wonderful to me! And Ezra is so good about it, bless his heart. With some exceptions, cats are just very rude, and dogs are high maintenance. My ideal ferret would be about 5x the size of a normal ferret... hahaha. I just have to deal with Ezra, who is about 2x the size of a normal ferret. >_<

Litter training is the bees knees. Linus poops next to our toilet Haha I watched a documentary on Honey Badgers the other day and they are essentially giant, havoc-reeking ferrets! Although they are normally really aggressive some of them have been hand reared and are too tame to release. The only problem is they kill all your other pets apparently...

I've heard they're totally ruthless and will kill anything they come across... Such a bad rep so there's probably a reason! Ezzy used to poop next to our toilet. It was great. I think he saw me using it and was like "Oh is this where we do that? Cool." but he's not a free-roamer anymore... Not since we moved and found at least 30 poops behind furnmiture and stuff.

Ah disaster. Do you keep him caged then? We occasionally have accidents here...
And he's a sneaky so-and-so. We trained him to go to the litter box and pee and/or poop before getting to play. He does it most times but sometimes he backs into the box, stands there for half a second and runs to the door again! I'm on to him though....

My 6 year old will let them out sometimes, and that is the rule, they have to potty before they come out, and they trick him a lot I think. I will catch them potting in the corner, or whatever, and Donnie will swear they potties before they were let out. Sneaky little bugs, they just know that it's the motion that we care about!

He does it most times but sometimes he backs into the box, stands there for half a second and runs to the door again! I'm on to him though.... Not too many accidents here, it was only an issue when he was out all day every day (free roaming) so as long as his roaming time is in incriments of 1 to 4 hours, he is fine. He also uses the box before he comes out but sometimes he won't, he does the same thing Linus does where he just stands there! Sometimes he'll just stand at the cage door like "Um I don't wanna poop and you can't make me, so are we gonna cuddle or what?" and I let him out. We do keep him caged when we're away, but he has a whole room when we're home, and we just close the door and let him wander around in there freely. It's my craft room so there's usually fabric scraps, paper scraps, or random stuff on the floor. No cords or anything harmful of course. Since he's an only child we definitely spend at least an hour of time dedicated to him daily. We stay up late for him sometimes because it's so important to us so I am not too worried about his accidents anymore. I just feel bad that he can't free roam... It's not the poops so much as the pee. I don't want to have to replace carpet and it's a brand new home so for now we restrict him just a bit.

Ha hilarious! The things you learn when you get ferret people together (bounce) Yeah same here, he's caged most of the day but his cage is well enriched. I have two male flat mates and I wouldn't trust him roaming with all their stuff all over the place

Ponce always pooped next to the toilet, so I gave in and put a puppy pad there. He would share bathroom time with me and would hop onto the toilet, and watch Paul "stand up". Mika tried that several times and fell in. Then I had to give her a rather icky bath.

Linus does this to my male flat mates, especially my bf who doesn't seem to know what the door is for He's just about had a few experiences of being "in the firing line". He fell in the toilet once (thankfully flushed). I think he learned his lesson when he realized he can't get out again...

Snapped some new pictures of Ezzy while I was working on building his new cage. For your viewing enjoyment! He's like "Jeez, are you almost done?" while he's watching me. Seriously, what is up with this pose?

I love the second one! He is so cute! By Pepe lays like that all the time with his paws on his fat belly. He is still so pear shaped, I love it! I also really, really love his coloring! I would call him a panda, but can panda's have a mask too?? hmmmmm
