He doesn't like most things like egg or freeze dried, I will try adding olive oil or coconut oil instead. He also likes the chicken and broth baby food, I was wondering if it might be alright to mix that in too.
He acted the same before whether the soup was slightly warm or cold. I'll try warming it again for him.
He is okay with eating the bits of meat in it, but he probably just wants the sweet taste that ferretone and veg oil add to it.
If it were not for the insulinoma, I would just let him reject the food for half a day and then when he got hungry he'd eat it. But I can't let him not eat for fear of low blood glucose. So we end up eating bite by bite until we eat a good amount.
Though both Miri and Honey are starting to eat cartilage now, and they don't want any funky oil additions to their meat at all.

So Zack doesn't like chicken with olive oil. He liked the oil by itself, but not on the meat. I think I'm going to forgo any oil at this point and just let him adjust more slowly, with smaller chicken bits, or even full soupie if he wants.
I'm going to go and give him some simpler stuff this evening. I made him very small bits of chicken thigh (with skin and fat) covered in some egg. Ratio is about 3:1.
And for tomorrow he goes back to the chicken soup recipe of chicken thighs, liver, heart, egg, egg shell powder. But I made this batch separate from the girls' one so Zack's has smaller bits of the chicken meat and no cartilage or bone bits.
I think I was trying to give him the same stuff that Miri and Honey were eating but he wasn't ready, so now we will slow down with him a bit and let him catch up on his own pace.
Miri and Honey are both eating quite large bits of meat (I'm not sure whether they would qualify as chunks yet, but definitely big bits). They are also continuing to eat chopped up cartilage and the end bits of bone. They leave only some of them behind and finish most of them.
Today I left them raw food in the cage while I was away and they practically finished it off. I didn't see who the culprits were but am inclined to believe it was the girls. Not sure about Zack.

Today went better with Zack he ate about half the soup with smaller bits of chicken by himself after I led him to it. Then ate the rest with my encouragement. My boyfriend fed him the chicken and egg meal yesterday evening and just told me that Zack was reluctant. Zack is silly about this whole eating thing! First he struggles because he doesn't want to go near it, but when you put some in front of him on a spoon - he licks it right up! But not from the bowl, unless you lower the spoon in the bowl, because after that he forgets that he hates this and eats anyways. * Honey and Miri are eating as good as before. I'm going to keep them at this consistency for a bit so they continue getting used to the meat, cartilage, and bone. They stash all the bigger pieces that they find. Honey was very energetic and could not sit through her meal calmly, we kept running away and coming back, then finding me feeding Zack and working very hard to steal Zack's food.

We have reached a plateau and before we proceed further we need to get better at these stages where we are at. I made quite a bit of food for them to last about a week. So far Miri is winning the adaptation to raw contest. She eats it and stashes it, and now has started to poop right beside the food all the time I have suspicions that Honey might be joining her, but have yet to catch her in action.

Newest update The turkey has arrived! Got ground up turkey on a sale and it was quite a bit more popular than chicken Zack ate a blended turkey soup, and so did the girls The girls also tried the unblended turkey, but Zack is being timid. I'm actually really worried about stressing him out by feeding him things when he isn't being enthusiastic at all. We are going to try alternating the two for now. The store also didn't have any chicken liver currently so we have calf and beef liver mixed in with the turkeys. And that is going great.

I am in the same boat sveta! I am trying this on my own and get really good feedback, but I feel like it would be better with a mentor. I go on the 'sign up for a mentor' thread all the time and count how far down I am! lol Your right before me, so when your up I'm close! Sounds like your girls are doing great though! I can't imagine trying to switch more than the one I have. And he's a baby still, so I really do have it easy. I enjoy reading your thread though, gives me ideas and other insights. Good luck with your switch! (dance)

Sorry I disappeared from here. I will be gone for another two months further. There's been an illness in the family. It has taken up a lot of my time and will for a while longer. The little fuzzbutts are all good. We have introduced pork successfully and have introduced beef semi-successfully (Zack only wants it when it's mixed with turkey). So we are now up to four proteins. Miri loves the pork. I have a photo here of Miri. I fed her pork for breakfast and then put a bunch of the soupie in the cage for everyone. Except Miri got to the communal bowl first and ate ALL of it. And that is how we achieved our first food coma

Oh no, I hope things with your family go ok. I am so addicted to this forum I downloaded the app. I literally have it anywhere now. And sounds like your switch is going well. Food comas are the best. Little chunkers!

I am sorry to hear that, I hope everything is okay. Please shoot Sherry or Heather or myself a PM when you return so that we know when to look at assigning you a mentor. You are very high on the wait list right now, but we can't set you up with someone until you are ready to return, so just let us know. Good luck!

Good luck. I know how much family issues take up your time and often leave little room both mentally and physically for anything else. Keep up with your raw adventure with your little ones if at all possible and if you have any questions especially in regards to balancing their diet do contact the forum. When you're ready to start up with a mentor to help with that final balance please get in touch. ciao

Hello, thanks everyone for the sympathy and the understanding. I am planning to come back home in a month.
I wanted to write a second hand update of what the fuzzies have been up to. my boyfriend has been feeding them raw soupie while I am away. I made a supply to last a while, and he has started making it himself now that the frozen supplies are ending.
he has been feeding them individually, 2 times a day. He says that they are more comfortable eating from a spoon, but eat from the bowl as well just get distracted more.
Honey has the softest coat. Miri just fully changed her coat. Zack has started growing reddish fur on his back! Which really surprised us. He hasn't made any photos yet. I'll post it here when I come back.
They are still eating chicken, pork, and turkey. They seem quite averse to the beef.

Additional update: The little buggers are starting to stink a whole bunch! And their poop smells really bad, it was starting to get quite smelly when I was leaving, but now I'm told it continues to smell and is even worse.
We have entered the nose plugging world of detox.

Hello, I'm back! They look so good now! Very very fluffy beautiful fur! Their diet at the moment consists of pork soup, chicken soup, and turkey soup. I tried beef before but they don't like it very much. I make about half a litre of soup and it lasts a couple of days. It is about 250 - 300 grams of meat, 30ish grams of liver, 1-2 chicken hearts, one egg, and some water. Miri - she is now pushing 6 years of age. We are going to the vet to get her checked up, with her age and having adrenal already I am worried about insulinoma. She didn't gain nearly as much as the others, even when she eats better than the other two combined. Zack - is 5 now, and he has insulinoma. Zack looks really fat. I am worried he will become like a balloon. He associates the food with the medicine we give him with food, so he is being more difficult with the switch than the girls. Honey - is 2 and a half. And so far no problems here with the food. And her fur looks sooo beautiful now. Currently the weights of the fuzzbutts stand at: Miri - 880g gained 80g from before switch Zack - 1700g gained 410g from before switch Honey - 1250g gained 420g from before switch Miri Zack Honey
