ok. So I will not count on it for high Taurine. They seem to like it, so at least it won't go to waste.

Also using thigh meat or a darker cut would be better than breast meat if you are worried about a lack of taurine.

It doesn't hurt them if I didn't add heart to the soup right?

depends on how long they have been without heart. They NEED some sort of meat that is high in taurine. Fish, beef tongue or heart. Tuarine is necessary to maintain heart and eye health.

Theyre three and have been on kibble their whole life. Right now theyre on a little wet kibble and raw soup, blended, to ween them off kibble. I'm feeling a little lost but I'm trying! I didn't put heart in this soup because I couldn't find any and I didn't want to stop the process. I'll try to get fish or beef tongue for the next one!

That should be fine then. You need to stick to the menu / soup recipe as nutritional deficiencies can and will show up over time and by the time they are noticeable there isn't much that can be done to correct the damage.

Yeah at this point I feel so lost, I shouldn't have started without a mentor.. Will they get sick from eating the same thing? How long should the soup period last? they are eating kibble and soup really good at this point and i'm slowly taking the kibble away. And should I use the tongue or fish? Sorry for all the questions..I just don't want to make them sick

Nutritional deficiencies take week to months to show up. I'd use tongue personally if I couldn't find heart anywhere. You can also buy taurine powder at health food / body building stores. Why not start your own switching thread in the appropriate area on the forum while you wait for a mentor (apply now if you already haven't).

I personally believe that it is better to start them eating raw asap. The older they get the harder they are to switch. You should get a mentor before any deficiencies show up.
