maybe try the pumpkin in some soup? If you think that he is getting worse than certainly a trip to the vet is fine. A stool sample should be checked but that would probably be all I'd do at first as long as he is eating/drinking/still playing. It may just take a couple of days to work itself out.

It's not getting worse, it's just not improving (and it's going on day 4). I've looked at the poop-chart before; to me, it's a mix between jelly-like, mucous, and the foamy/bubbly example. I was leaning towards something bacterial considering how it looks, how it smells, and the fact Lilo's poops seem pretty normal. He is acting fine, which is good. I haven't noticed a change in appetite or behavior.
Update: Got him to eat some pumpkin! Ground up a bit of chicken and added it in there; he gobbled it all up.

Any improvement with the soup?

His poop is starting to firm up with the addition of pumpkin, but it still has a slimy consistency. Is this a good sign? Should I continue with the pumpkin for awhile?

I personally would still keep a close eye on him but give it a couple more days. When I first got Izzy she was 5 years old, dumped in to my lap at a restaurant and had been eating walmart ferret food all her life. When I started switching her to raw it took about a month to get her poops sorted out. She had an awful upset belly. With him being a kit I wouldn't expect it to take very long, he should bounce back.

Are you adding some egg shell to your soup?

Yes, I add eggshell powder to everything I offer.

His poop is looking better each day. I gave a small amount of pumpkin this morning but none with tonight's meal; hoping it will still look decent tomorrow!

No problem! I've been insanely busy myself, hence the delayed response. Work is slightly chaotic atm. It looks like his poop is almost back to normal! I gave organs the other day so they were, of course, sorta runny and dark in color but I know that's normal. They are learning to eat around the bone, even if I smash it up and/or grind it into smaller pieces. Any idea on how to remedy that? I do the eggshell in pretty much everything I give, so I think that helps offset when they don't eat all of the bone.

I had one of mine refuse to eat bone. I would slash the meat all over it and drizzle a little oil and finally she latched on. Another option is to take some of the chunks you have smashed up and add it to the soup and see if they will eat it that way.

They actually seem to eat more of the bone when I don't break it up. Some is left but not much. I thought they would eat more if I took the time to break it apart - nope! I think it's safe to say Stitch's poops are pretty much back to normal. Yay!!! They are both looking better since the switch, especially Lilo. She literally looks (and feels) like a different ferret. Stitch is still lanky and thin while she has filled out. He gets more food than she does - any idea why it's taking him so long to chunk up?

He will bulk up, just needs time. His little body has been starving for the nutrients after eating all that kibble. Also ferrets come in all shapes and sizes. He may be one that is more on the lanky looking side than a chunky boy. Are you still weighing them? I'd check his weight once a week to make sure he is still gaining. Sometimes after they lose their baby fat they don't get really chubby again till the next time they hit winter mode.

Did you get your shipment from hare today? Just wanted to check in and see how the organs were going and if I could help you with anything else?
