okay sorry for the picture of poop but i took him outside and he immediately went!!!! i almost cried ahaha. i took a picture let me know if something like this is okay. it loosk like a regular poop of his but mucusy and oranger so i think it means hes moving through normally, right? and he looks very alert and healthy and he was running around excitedly! Should I bother with the vet or do you think he'll be okay? he didn't have any problems going he just went right for it. i could leave food out for him if he gets hungry and check on him in like 2-3 hours? would that be safe? or should i still take him in?

I think you are probably okay - can you check on him during your lunch break? What concerns me is that the HP didn't make him throw up - how much did you give? Did he ingest it, or could he have spit it back up? I am thinking he didn't actually swallow it. If he did swallow the dose, he WOULD have thrown up within 5 min or less....

Yup I stayed with him an extra hour and he seems better. I'm heading back in an hour to check on him during my lunch break.
He definitely spit it back up. It was literally all that came back out and I gave him half a tsp of it. What little he didn't spit up definitely went into his tummy which caused his upset. I could tell he was passing some in the smell of his runs. I don't think it's something I'll want to try again.

Hydrogen peroxide should only be used in an emergency. Quite frankly though, with my blockage experiences I would have used it. I don't think you did wrong. The thing is you HAVE To make sure they SWALLOW the FULL dose. That is very hard to do since it tastes like the poison it is. This requires a ton of salmon oil and ferretvite and whatever else it takes to disguise it, as well as practice in shoving meds down the throat without choking them. lol (I have had to give metro many times unfortunately, so this is something I am used to). Better to go through all of that and the tummy ache that follows than the bigger stress and tummy ache (and wallet ache) that comes with a blockage...
If his poops are still off or he seems to have residual upset, you can give a little pepsid for a few days to soothe his tummy. Or a little slippery elm syrup.

Yeah there was a LOT of chewed up rubber and I caught it so fast it seemed like a better idea to try and get it out before it went in. Now I think he didn't even ingest any but it's better safe than sorry! Poor guy. I hope there is no next time but if there is I'll make sure he swallows it all.

Alright! I just checked on him and not only did he have three very normal poopies he was eating the last of his food when I got home! I let him out to run around and he's happy as a clam so I think he's all better!

Thank goodness! I am glad. Blockages are awful, awful things to have to go through.
