Don't quite understand why you have such a problem with the smell of WBCL katt- but each to their own I far prefer WB, but cost wise, swheat scoop is the better bet here.

Don't quite understand why you have such a problem with the smell of WBCL katt- but each to their own I far prefer WB, but cost wise, swheat scoop is the better bet here. My room smelled gross. I got rid of the WB, it smelled better. Got WB again, and my room smelled gross. I LOVE how it smells dry, but as soon as they pee on it... *pukes* The wet litter smells bad. Swheat Scoop does not have this problem, and controls overall odor as well if not (yes) better than, WB. AND the multicat kind clumps just as firmly as WB.

That's too funny. I found far less smell with the wet WB compared to the wet SS ;D

I see I've started quite the litter debate here ;D I'll probably end up giving both a try and will let you ladies know which one I think is better The baking soda addition sounds like a great idea though, same with the top on the litter box, well assuming the ferrets don't poop on top, it sounds like someone has quite the trouble maker ferrets! ;D Thanks again everyone for all of your reccommendations, it gives me a lot to work with!

Toothpicks! - good to have on hand, and a few in the emergency kit in case you run out. They are necessary (IMO) for dissecting poops when you are trying to make sure every part of a blockage makes it's way out. It sounds gross....until you suddenly find yourself in near hysteria, frantically picking apart every poop in the box trying to piece together an entire rubber lizard to make sure the whole thing comes out and none of it gets left behind.... *looks around innocently* Who me? Noooo..... Never! *glares and shakes fist at Koda* ;D

Poop foraging... my favourite! Haha don't worry I already do poop foraging with my other critters and have had the "has every part of that thing they weren't suppose to eat but did anyways come out" scares MANY times. Actually, I usually just end up dragging the critters into work (I work at a vet clinic) and getting x-rays to ease my mind, but sadly my work doesn't see ferrets. But will definitely add those to my list! I forgot to ask earlier where you buy that rescue remedy from?

Katt, might I suggest that in your emergency kit you also might consider having a bottle of RR, rescue remedy and a bottle of traumeel. ciao Also forgot to ask earlier... what's traumeel?

You might be able to find it in health stores. Remember to get the pet one, not the people one. The people one has alcohol in it (though it's not the end of the world to give the human one). Vitamin shoppe, GNC, maybe some drugs store. Or you could always order it online

I get mine from Community Natural Foods. Yes, it is the "people" one, but for the amount of alcohol in it, it's never bothered mine.

I think Q-Tips were on my emergency list? Quite probably, I was simply too lazy to go back through ;D You mentioned toothpicks for picking apart the stool, and I immediately thought "qtips" for that purpose as well

I use a Furminator I bought for my cat and it really helps when they're blowing their coat. The hair ends up in the trash instead of in their tummies or on my furniture.
Also, a playpen can be a godsend. I use the Marshall's one and use it as a gate/barrier to keep them away from my bookcase. I also don't have to close the door to keep them in my room so it keeps the air circulating. They also have fun when it's a nice day and I set it up outside.

Yay someone who knows what a furminator is! ;D the new "ferret/small animal" one is really just the cat one but smaller, but I am glad to hear they work - I'll probably just end up getting a kitten/cat size one though since I can't find the ferret one anywhere I am glad you mentioned the playpen - I have been looking for one but haven't found any good ones. Are you happy with your Marshall one? that's the one I was thinking of ordering online. Also do you think it's worth it to get the floor cover / top cover? I'm thinking it might be for taking them outside ever, but I'm not sure if I'd let them in the pen outside without a harness / leash anyways, I'd be too paranoid ;D
