Indeed!! I'm always looking at his food and wondering "Is he really going to eat this whole thing?" But I've never even had to remove any meat yet. He's eaten a whole chicken wing in 12 hours, easily. ;D

the babies got their first whole piece of meat (a chicken wing) last night! I've never had a problem with them stashing treats, meat chunks, or any other food, but they loved this so much, I had to take it out of their bed, twice! Zilla And Xanthee

I know its not as exciting a picture as a ferret gorging on whole prey but here are Jasper and Felix going to town on their commercial raw, a mix of rabbit and pheasant <3 i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z456/brianna_a/IMG_0399.jpg<a href="http://s1190.photobucket.com/user/brianna_a/media/IMG_0399.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z456/brianna_a/IMG_0399.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0399.jpg"/></a>

Are you joking? I find it just as exciting seeing a new one transitioned to raw, even commercial raw, as I do watching them chow down on their mice

My question is, if I start a colony of feeder mice, can they survive on just mice with a few fish here, and chick there, and a baby (or large) rabbit thrown in for variety? Can they survive on mice as a staple?

Even on whole prey they need a minimum of 3 different proteins Generally those three are fed throughout a week. Too much reliance on a single protein can set them up either for a sensitivity later on, or simply have them refusing it because they become bored with that protein. Also, any immature animal is best used as a treat or at most once a week since they aren't high enough in calcium

I love how she's trying to figure out how to position it to eat it. Did she actually finish it off finally?
