I know i posted about this is another thread somewhere as a guest, but i would like to make an official one and hopefully get some feedback. My ferret Monty has this growth in his throat, i noticed it shortly after his first vet visit, because of this i told myself that i would keep an eye on it and if it got bigger then i would take him back. So just recently (today) i noticed it got bigger. I' am super worried and am hoping that is an abscess that hopefully can be easily removed. If any one knows anything about this, please post. I' ve been crying all day, i can't lose him, its his birthday this week and hes only 1.
here is a picture...

Just answered your post in the other thread lol. It does look very similar to the one mentioned in another post. It was a simple surgery. Your wee one is young and healthy except for the abscess. I would be tempted to biopsy unless the vet feels its unnecessary. Sometimes, they feel that the cyst removed is totally encapsulated and they feel that a biopsy is not imperative, leaving the process up to you (biopsies are quite expensive but often enlightening). ciao

Roman had one of those. Vet aspirated it and sent the fluid off for testing. Came back unremarkable - negative so to speak. It came back a couple months later, but then disappeared on its own too. Never seemed to bother him.

My ferret Snickelfritz also had an abscess in his throat. It was in the same place as your fuzzies abscess. She aspirated, and it never came back It was very simple! Sent from my SGH-I747M using proboards
