Here is Peanut.. The reason I wonder if he is wardy is because aside from him being deaf he somehow looks different than the others, this picture early doesn't catch what I am saying but his face looks more babyish than the others did at his age, I mean he is still young he is 7 months now. I really don't know how to explain it. He does funny things too like hissing and screeching at times that wouldn't warrant it....like when he pounces on a toy, or a blanket... Or a shadow, or really when he pounces the air. He is a very silly boy. He poofs up for no apparent reason. He is so silly and playful but there is a differentness to him. This will sound crazy but he reminds me of my husbands niece Heather who was downs and passed on at 25 about 11 years ago, we weren't close but I had a ball playing with her, she had this same silliness and quirky innocence to her It might all be in my head

He is too cute!! All 3 of mine hiss a LOT while playing - whether it's with a toy or with each other. I think it's just their way of laughing sometimes. His face is very sweet

Interesting facial structure to be sure!

Again, he appears to have the facial structure for it. How is he intelligence wise, balance, training, etc?

Theodore is at the top of this photo. This is an older one, but I don't have any more recent. Sydney is in the middle. She has all of the white markings but nothing else.

My Boris had a lot of the markers for WS(white around face/head, white knee patches, white spot on underside of tail). He didn't however have any other sign. He was smart as a whip, and had excellent hearing. Facial structure perfectly normal.

My Peanut is funny to watch, he randomly poofs up real big for no reason, hisses and screeches even when he is by himself. I love it when he walks around hissing, no one near him and he is just walking around proofed up and hissing, he cracks me up.

Sherry - He has never been real intelligent, but it got worse after his ear infection, everything did. His balance got so much worse. Sometimes he scoots across the floor because it is so hard for him to walk. On a good day, he will weave a little as he walks, but he only falls over when he shakes his head or when he doesn't seem to have the energy to focus solely on walking. I cry on those days. It hurts my heart to see him scooting across the floor because he can't muster up the effort to concentrate on walking. He used to roll over, guided by a treat every time, but he no longer does because of his ballance issues. He was always food motivated, but training him was like pulling a crocodiles teeth! If it required effort, he would waddle away. I think his ear infection was so devastating for him because he has a very narrow, very flat head, very oddly shaped skull. (the back of e skull, where the muscles in the neck attach to the protrusion at the very back of the skull is very prominent and hooked) I have a horrible feeling that the infection reached the brain before I could get him in. It was an extremely rapid progression and went from nothing to him not able to walk in less than 24 hours. I also suspect some sort of neurological disorder or possibly damage. If you curl his toes over and have him stand on them(top of toes to ground) he doesn't right his foot like Pig or Lady or even grumpy Miss Kitty do. He will just stand on the tops of his toes until he is ready to walk away.
The good news is, we haven't been to the vet in about 3 months! (February 22 was our last visit!!) He did get the flu once, and I had to make kibble soup to get enough food and water in him. (I blender the kibble with warm water and ferrevite to make it easier to digest)

It does indeed sound like the infection left behind a neurological mark. Poor wee mite. I was noticing that Boris was looking so old today. He was weezing really badly and coughing too. The humidity is rough on our little heart kids. He is barely 5 yrs old, but looks and moves worse than Odin. He's such a love, not real bright but he wouldn't harm anyone ciao

I have a hard time in the humidity too. I was born with a genetic deformity that left me with 2 chambers in my heart. (instead of the normal 4) I don't like living in Michigan for that reason. (Also the freaking mosquitoes are like small birds!)
I think I have finally got Mo-Mo thinking on the right direction in that I don't want to hurt him. (I think saving him from drowning helped me along that path a lot!) I always feel bad for him, but he doesn't look or act like he is in pain or uncomfortable. Sometimes Pig, Lady, it I can even convince him to play! (usually tickling his chest or his behind while making a raspberry sound gets him going. Pig too!)

Here's a pic of Javik's face from the side for you Katt. His fur is pretty poofed up on the top of his head from dancing like a maniac earlier, sorry about that lol And now he's hissing at my cat while war dancing haha

Little Javik is more than likely a waardy. From the look on the side his eyes appear set too low on his face but the telltale....his colouring sets him up. He's so cute though. He is what the breeders call a mutt....I don't know why. I think it's because their colouring doesn't fall into any of the categories. I've had a couple. I will be interested to see if he becomes a DEW. I had a couple that did, but Yuri never did. I was rather surprised with that. His silver colouring actually got darker and his markings (especially his belly spots) got more pronounced ciao

I'm starting to have little to no doubts about him being a Waardy, but it doesn't bother me one bit! I love every little trait of his that Waardenburg gives him. I provided this picture because I feel it is probably the best angle to really show his broad skull and low set eyes (which are pretty far apart as well). I love his personality though, he's a complete sweetheart and cuddles with me all the time, but he also loves to play, and his clumsiness when dancing is so endearing. Even watching him wrestle with a towel is absolutely adorable! If he has any mental retardation (I use this term with no offense intended), it's very well hidden by how cute he is! He doesn't have problems with the literbox anymore, he makes it every single time while in the cage, and out of the cage I have decided to use puppy pads, one of which he uses almost devotedly every time he gets out of his cage. He is still pretty nippy while playing, but has never broken skin, so I'm hoping with time outs along with him getting his adult teeth this issue should dull down a bit. As for his colors, His dark spots are almost entirely black rather than silver, with some silver strands, so I feel he'll probably fade to a light silver rather than complete DEW, but I would love any coloring he ends up with I've caught myself calling him my Waardy prince from time to time while playing with him, I don't know where it came from but I feel it's pretty fitting
