You know he looks good. There does appear to be some swelling along the right side (trying to remember the photos). His coat and weight looks quite good. Your boy looks really good considering the battle you're having with IBD. I don't think he's obese considering it is the winter season. ciao

Do you think that this size of his spleen(if it is splenomegaly)is causing him discomfort because he has become really lethargic!!!!!Also as i have mentioned he has problem with his urination,do think that this is causing him lethargy? i am trying to find an exotic vet to see what's going on....

I've seen a lot worse. It is horrible when trying to find out what is wrong and not finding anything conclusive. I can't tell you from these photos if I would suggest a spenomegaly or not. Each ferret is so different and I'm very reluctant to get surgeries done on my little ones. If there is indeed IBD then he would probably exhibit an enlarged spleen. I know that my two did. It would be better for you and your ferret if you could actually find a vet you could trust....that itself is a journey ciao

What one vet considers a large spleen varies so dramatically. One vet saw Jack, thought his spleen was "huge" and had me in tears because her recommendation was immediate surgery and the next day a different vet saw him and thought his spleen was completely "normal." An x-ray is definitely in order for both the bladder concerns as well as the spleen. From the last vet I saw with jack, she explained that the size isn't what should be the main concern, its the shape. A smooth edge is healthy, it's when they get lumpy and bumpy that really should be a concern.

Yeah,i am waiting now for some money from the US and then i'll go my ferret to the Vet,cause i'm completely broke.I was thinking these days that it may be an enlarged prostate because he had this problem since the previous summer, then in the winter when we went to the vet the urinalisis didn't show anything and i thought it was from IBD.Then in late February he developed this problem. Can i do something temporary till i go to the vet to help urinate more easily?

Keep his urine dilute, either by syringe forcing water or by giving lots of soupies.
