UPDATE: So its been about 2 months since Lulu's des implant and at first she was sleeping a lot. Not anymore....she has been NUTS the last few weeks! She's constantly awake it seems like and is a terror! Lol she doesnt even walk anymore. its all running lol its like shes a baby again! its so weird. i dont mnownif the des is in over drive or what. she hasn't grown any hair back at all yet but her vulva has gone down significantly. Still swollen but not as bad as it was. Is it normal for her to be SO wired?? She is literally crazy! It's like she's on a mission running around...funny girl.

Thanks for the update! She's insane because she finally feels like a ferret again ;D It's good to hear. For the fur, why not try a melatonin implant? Those work so well in conjunction with either des or lupron.

Is the melatonin implant different than the melatonin pill? Cuz I give her the pill already and she's been on that for a couple years.

I have to start letting her out in the mornings before work now or else she's biting the cage bars and makes a big mess of the ferret nation lol crazy little girl

There is no diffence between the implant and the pill but....you must absolutely must give it at the correct time during the day. It must be given 7 to 9 hrs after sunrise. If you do not do this it will not work. ciao

That will do her no good. You might as well save your time and money and get an implant. 9:30 am is only a couple of hours after sunrise. ciao

I'm not used to a 6 year old ferret acting like a 1 year old.... But I love it!

Ouch... I just had Rolo implanted today and the implant itself cost $150. $25 for the local anesthetic & it was a re-check so they waived the exam fee. After tax the total was under $200.

The $150 sounds just about right. It's gone up a lot since we started getting the implants from the US ciao

Yup, it doubled cost from the last time I implanted to this time. Its ugly taking my 3 adrenal babes in to get them. *
