Here is a menu. This is based on what is in my fridge now. I'll also be rotating in CGH and freeze dried duck duck and lamb, but I don't have any right now. Monday - chicken wing 2 meals Tuesday - beef chunks 2 meals Wednesday - turkey wing 1 meal heart + liver 1 meal Thursday - chicken back 2 meals Friday - pork chunks 2 meals Saturday - turkey necks 2 meals Sunday - chicken drumstick 1 meal heart + liver 1 meal Ok so are you still giving taurine supplements? If not I'd probably try to get a little more heart in there. Like maybe poured as soupies over one of the other meals here and there. I will submit this to Heather. in the meanwhile, how are they doing on he liver and heart? Have you tried mixing slivers into their soup? And just so oyu know, you can always still PM me after you graduate. I am still Very happy to help get them eating whole organ.s/hearts and whole prey. I think you have the process down though.

I always add a small amount of taurine to soups. Isn't 2 heart meals a week enough?

Ok with the taurine that should be good. I was meanng more like an extra meal here and there - like once every few weeks or so. You can't overdo it on taurine. Well myabe if you fed a LOT haha but the taurine supplement in the soups is basically what I was geting at with soupies poured over meals on occasion. So nvm! haha

okay good. They haven't eaten the heart pieces on their own yet. Pixie will sometimes eat liver pieces whole. What kills me is they love liver heart soup

Today is beef chunks and some left over ground turkey. There is some pork on sale for $1.29 a lb, so I am going to pick some of that up this weekend. I'm not sure if you saw my "Diet of mostly rodents" thread. I definitely want to do mostly whole prey eventually. The cost right now isn't necessarily feasible, but that is my eventual goal. With my girls pickiness, I don't think large whole prey will be an option for a bit. If I just put a rabbit in front of them they will pick and choose what they want. But with smaller whole prey, that is much harder What do you think of this diet: Monday: Mice Tuesday: Rats Wednesday: Bone in meal Thursday: Hamsters Friday: Gerbils Saturday: Bone in meal + extra organs Sunday: Bone out meal

What kills me is they love liver heart soup Have you tried JUST heart, and JUST liver soup? Perhaps they like the combo, but then the taste of one on it's own is different... Like I love chocolate covered bananas, but I do not like plain bananas. haha See how they react to one or the other only in soup form, rather than a blend of the two.

I have seen the thread but my computer died when I was going through threads last night. I was too frustrated with it ti turn it back on. haha I will try to read it and post tonight or tomorrow.

Yeah definitely. The non-prey days would be rotations of chicken, beef, pork, turkey and CGH. The poultry mostly for bone in, the beef and pork for bone out. I will definitely try the soup with just heart and the same for liver.

I understand that you're ready to graduate Congratulations, you and your little ones are doing great. I like both of your menus (prey and whole meats). I would be less concerned with your guys eating whole organs and heart. I don't push it. As long as you've got variety (which you do) the fact that they won't eat anything but their organ soupy....not to worry. I've got old timers who don't care for it either, but when it's in the prey they will eat it....so as long as you keep up with the organ mush...not a problem (just don't forget ) I will leave your thread open long enough for Katt to come in and congrat you and then it will be locked up and filed. You will not be able to post any further but you will be able to read it through at any time (of course considering the powers that be, you could go in and edit your file at any time ;D ;D). Please realize that Katt or any of us are always available for you to answer any diet related questions (I'm sure you know where to find her ) Great job and good luck ciao

Thank you so much! It has definitely be a journey, but a fun one. It seems like just yesterday I was getting chicken mush splattered all over my face while trying to hand feed chicken slivers. Time does fly I am so grateful for this program, all the support of this forum, an my mentor Katt for helping me get my girls on a diet that will allow them to live life to the fullest.
