Infection maybe... possibly spread to intestines?
Pyometra can cause swelling so I'm sure another infection could too. Good he is going to vet.

I'm not a vet or very experienced in this area but with a belly that size something is seriously wrong. I'd be surprised if the kit survived for much longer without an emergency vet visit.

I'd be surprised if the ferret survived even with an immediate vet visit. Even if hat little one survives, its definitely not a good way to start out.

this was the last update on this thread: Ok ,,turns out he has a ( please forgive my spelling ) bladder infection ,,and is not weeing propyl ,so mum is licking him so much to make him go ,,and has given him a rash ,vet said its ither the bladder infection ,or a twisted intestine ,and can't poo ,one or the other ,he also said all I can do is keep it clean with the salt water ,and if I can ( and I can ) rub his bum like his mum would lick him to make him go ,,,I know he has done poos and wees ,,but the vet told me he's not going as much as he can ,,,so mummy ferret is doing the best she can ,trying to help him go ,,and I will be doing the same ,,oh the other thing he said ,,is because of the infection his spleen may also be inflamed causing the bloated tummy ,,,,,,,,,IDE like to thankyou ALL for your input and help TBH I'd be highly suprised if he made it, but will ask.
