Megaweasel is being odd and I'm concerned. They did not get out for very long yesterday bc I was away at school and I just let them out of their cage tonight. Typically megaweasel is very very hyper when I let him out. But tonight he isn't playing and he just keeps going into his alligator and curling up. I'm worried.... I got the treats out and he came over and ate one. His vet is off on wed and he's the only vet that sees ferrets within 70 miles... Could he just be having an off day? I took him outside sat, but Clovis and vanilla bean were out too so idk if it'd be that. Any thoughts?

The usual check list....he's lethargic...yes. He's obviously out of sorts, he's hiding and sleeping. Is he eating at all? Has he pooped? If so what was it like? Is he peeing? Is there any drainage, eyes, ears, nose? Is he drinking? Are his gums of good colour? moist? Is he coughing? Is he walking ok (flat ferret)? ciao

I haven't seen his poop yet bc i just got them out. This is the first I've noticed this behavior. He came and ate treats but not reg food yet, he could have eaten before I got him out though. No drainage, gums are pink and moist, nose slightly dry... He doesn't want me picking at him but that's normal. He seems extra itchy... But it's hard to tell bc he's always scratching, so I could just be paranoid w that.

Do you feed soupy? Maybe, feeding him some soupy would give you some answers. Even if you have to hand feed him ciao

He is eating a big bowl of wysong freeze dried w water added... But his behavior hasn't changed. I found a mucousy yellow poop but I'm not 100% sure it's his bc the others were out. I put them up and changed papers and will leave megaweasel out so I can tell. It's good he's eating right?

Now I'm starting to really worry. I left megaweasel out w us all night and I don't think he moved from where he went to sleep. I woke him up and he is clearly having a hard time going to the bathroom and doesn't seem interested in his food. He is walking kind of funny too, slow and w a slight wobble. I'm calling the vet as soon as they open... Thirty long minutes.

I wonder if the adrenal's popped back up again. It could be his bladder. Fingers crossed Maddy, and please keep us posted.

I took him to the vet today and she had zero personality... His normal vet is off wed so I had to drive somewhere else. When I told her he had an adrenalectomy when we was just under two she was shocked... Then told me ferrets in north America are train wrecks as far diseases go. He seems to not know what to do w his back legs so she thought it was prob neurological bc his glucose was fine. He's eating and drinking now, but they gave him sub q so idk if that has anything to do with it. They are sending off blood work and I'll hopefully hear something tom. It scares me bc she doesn't know... He had a tiny poop last night but did a poopie blaster all over the carrier on the way home. Does anyone have any ideas?? This is killing me

Could this be a blockage? Not wanting to eat, small poops, lethargic. Is he bloated? Maybe that's why he's walking funny.

Thank you. It's just so weird bc he's eating drinking and using the bathroom like normal.... But he just wants to sleep. His legs are odd, so I'm not sure what's going on w them. I thought maybe he could have pulled something or strained it in the cage; maybe he fell? But the vet doesn't think it's muscular or skeletal... I'm just seriously beyond distressed. Megaweasel is my special baby and I'm so afraid
