So, it's been getting much warmer lately, and as a result we haven't been keeping the woodstove going every night. This means...that the ferrets get to go downstairs again and explore the kitchen. They think this is just FABULOUS. So the other night I was bored at home alone and brought them down to the kitchen while I mixed up fresh soupies. I so happened to bust out the camera...heck I am always pestering everyone else for photos so I thought I'd pay MY dues ;D Aaaand they're off! Ferret scatter! Soxx immediately knocked over the recycling can and made friends with a(n empty, rinsed) soda bottle: Marley liked the bottle too: We have an electric stove, and use the bottom drawer to store pans. The kids think that pans are great fun to play in (oven was not on, nor was the stove): Soxx joined in too: They also got a water bath (first one in awhile...they aren't too fond of them..which is why I only have pictures of Soxx. The others wouldn't hold still ;D ): Then, hours of playing later...they were pooped. Freya couldn't make up her mind which end she wanted out: Flat Ferret! After all, being a ferret is SUCH HARD WORK Hope you enjoyed! They have been having a blast!! It's great to see my 7 y/o (Soxx, the DEW) playing harder than the younger ones (both under 2 y/o) consistently -- THANKS RAW

What a blast. It's so great seeing the wee ones enjoying themselves. They're looking really good. Despite some of the issues regarding diet they're looking fantastic. Their coats are gorgeous and they're active and bright eyed. The change in your old man, Soxx is just amazing. ciao

Thanks guys I am super proud of my fuzzers. My mom and I were just looking at pictures from when I first brought Soxx & Marley home, just late October, and holy smokes! Huge difference in both of them. Marley's turned into a lil porker

Are there 'before' pics of Soxx around on the board? I was amazed when I read that he was 7! He definitely doesn't look like a 'senior' fuzz! And from the sounds of it, doesn't act like one either.

Yup, they are in the before/after thread 2nd page, here's the link: holisticferret60.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=fuzz&action=display&thread=871&page=2He was even up & ready to get out of the cage this morning and has now engaged Marley in an intense dooking/play sessions. I swear he never stops now, it's fantastic. He used to sleep alllll the time. His coat is the best out of the three texture-wise, and it used to be the worst by far. It went from coarse like hay to smooth and silky. I think he smells the best too Even my mom can't deny the changes! She dislikes raw because of the work/germs involved, but since I do all the work & disinfect regularly she's cut back on the complaints ;D Which I think I've posted elsewhere...but can't remember... I am a HUGE raw advocate now!

They look like they're having a blast! My fuzzbutt's favourite place is in the oven drawer, I often find them sleeping in one of my pots! ;D The only thing about them going in the oven is that you should check and make sure the insulation is well out of their reach and tucked in properly, you really don't want them getting into that!

Good point -- something I hadn't thought of. It's a relatively new stove so it should be okay. How can I check?
